The Post-War Mydlands
The Grand Duchy of Tansun
Hundreds of years ago, Tansun was an island amidst a veritable sea of monster choked wilderness under a rising tide of undead. Rather than let the spark of humanity die in the Mydlands, the leadcers of Tansun struck out and made alliances with any who were willing to band together. Displaced Dwarf clans, K’naii tribes willing to remain in the Central Forests. When it was discovered that the twin cities that still somewhat thrived on Lake Blue Silk to the Southwest were not only hostile but led by an inbred, paranoid royal family, the leaders of Tansun began to take advantage of their circumstances by proliferating the myth that the Central forests around Tansun were haunted and deadly (only partially a fabrication). This afforded them the isolation they needed to firm up their alliances and rekindle the fire of life in satellite towns long abandoned after the collapse of the first Mureaux Empire.
Rescued from destruction by a group of disparate adventurers who came to be known as the “Heroes of Tansun”, the town became instrumental in the resussitation of the Mureaux family and the re establishment of the empire. After many many years of war and adventuring, the Mureaux were returned to power and the schemes of many undead, ancient and otherwise, and wizards from the other side of the world, were put down and defeated.
As a reward, the Mureaux family pledged that as the kingdoms and duchies were established, Tansun would forever be at the heart of a Grand Duchy span the whole of the countryside from which order had been restored. This is West before the wildlands that border the Atruaghin Clans, North to Duchy of Harrow, East to the fertile farms of the shires and South to Waters of Lake Blue Silk.
